It's not a pinball machine, but being
manufactured by Williams, it shares some common things with pinball.
Stampede was purchased December 28th as a late Christmas present for ourselves.
On power-up, the slot makes the familiar "bong" sound just as the later model pins, uses 555 bulbs on the PCB's, takes quarters (even give them back), has a free play setting, and has the famous Williams logo on it. It has some excellent sound effects and if you get the Stampede symbol on the far right reel it will spin, with each reel going in various directions, until you win something, with the sound of a full stampede going on in the background. We first played this slot on a trip to Laughlin, Nevada a few years back and knew someday we'd like to have one. Apparently not many of these were made as you don't see them in big numbers, and there are a few different versions (one with a dot matrix display), but if you find one feed it a couple quarters. It's a lot of fun, especially if you win. And it fits right in with the theme along side the Cactus Canyon pin. Whoa, it's a Stampede!
